I am not a fan...

of Mondays. But then again, who is? I don't have an office to go to, but for me it signifies the end of having my wonderful husband home to help with the kids. I have to admit I kind of shut down on the weekends. Matt is so helpful and so I take the opportunity to do far less than I do during the week. As a result, things get behind. Laundry, grocery shopping and all the other lovely mundane tasks I see to during the week. So on Mondays I have some serious damage control to do. And to top it all off, our Christmas tree is still up. I just haven't had the heart to take it down. I try to wait as along as possible to put it up to not interfere with Advent and so I don't want to take it down, even by Epiphany. So some day soon I will bite the bullet, but not today...maybe tomorrow.

Lovely Sunday

It was a lovely, relaxing day today. We went to Mass at the Fathers of Mercy, came home and the kids rested while Matt and I worked on various projects together and then we had a feast of pineapple ham and broccoli with the most wonderful Parmesan covered fresh bread you have ever had. It was delightful! Now we are preparing for another wok back to work for Matt and household goings-on for me and the kids. Have a wonderful week!

5 Years

Matt and I were married 5 years ago today. It has been a very active 5 years with some definite low points and many, many high points. I feel like we have grown so much as a couple and I am amazed all the time at how well we work together in our daily responsibilities and activities. We have three beautiful children and a lovely home and I am so proud of how hard Matt works to make a wonderful life for us. We don't have anything special planned for today but we are going out of town ALONE in a few weeks to recharge ourselves. Thank you to my sister and brother-in-law for offering to watch the kids all weekend. You are our heroes!!!

Curtains

So, I am so totally obsessed with curtains. I have purchased curtains for the living room, girls room and master since we moved in to our new house. I used an old curtain in the bathroom which I redesigned to make it more modern, and I have yet to buy curtains for Max's room and the kitchen. The kitchen has curtains that were here that I like but I feel like they need a face lift. I am just not quite sure how to do it inexpensively without redoing the whole thing. And Max's room is just beyond me. He has one of those huge Little Tikes bed in royal blue and I was going to use red as an accent color, but that stumps me on what color to use for the wall and curtains without giving you the feeling you walked into an aquarium. I was thinking gray for the walls but that really scares me. So for now he has white walls and pink curtains (they were already there). Thankfully he likes pink so he doesn't even notice! So my dream would be to pay someone to decorate his room, but alas, that is not in the budget. So for now I will just drool when I look through my Country Curtains magazine and dream about what could be!

Attempt #752

Here I am again! But I can't promise anything. It's a new year and anything is possible, right? Well, last year I made the very cliche new year's resolution to lose weight. I did, in fact, lose 30 lbs in 6 months. Unfortunately, I have gained 10 back. Ugh!! Now with my sister's wedding a mere 4 months away I need to lose that ten again and ideally, ten more. So what better time to do this than right after the holidays. To be quite honest it is pretty easy for me to give up junk food after the holidays because I quite frankly get sick of it. There are perks to having a teacher for a husband and wonderful Christmas goodies is one of them! So this is my resolution for this year-to lose 20 more pounds. Wish me luck!!
