First time alone!

Today was the first time I took all 3 kids out alone. It was actually quite a disaster. Olivia had her 1 month well-child appt. and I was exactly on time-10:10. Until I got home and realized that the appt. was actually at 10. Oops! Our family photo on Sat. is at 10:10-not the Dr. appt. Oh well. Then, the 2 older kids were so vocal, to put it nicely, that it makes it really hard to have a decent conversation with the Dr. Thankfully Olivia is healthy and there wasn't much to talk about but geesh! Anyway, I survived, but I won't be taking them all next time. That's for sure!

Olivia Irene

Our beautiful little Livie arrived Nov. 7, 2009. She weighed 8 lb 6 oz and was 20.5 in long. So far she has just been a wonderfully sweet little thing and brings joy to my heart. Max and Bella love giving her hugs and kisses, but mostly just ignore her. However, I know she will soon be toddling after them, wanting to play their games. They grow so fast. I dread her turning one month old because I don't know how it happened so fast and I know time will continue to fly.

Busy weekend

Well, we have a very busy weekend ahead of us. Sat is the annual Assumption Mass and picnic at the Fathers of Mercy. The Corpus Christi picnic was rained out this year but so far the weather looks like it is going to cooperate for this weekend. I am bringing a side dish but I haven't decided what yet. Hmmmm...

On Sunday is my brother's 16th birthday. We are going to be celebrating that right after Mass. I have yet to pick up his gift but for once I actually know what I want to get him. It is rare for me to get him anything other than an iTunes card.

Finally, on Sunday evening Matt's brother and his wife and daughter are coming into town. This is exciting for us because rarely does anyone in his family get this far south. So far only his parents have made the whole drive down to see us. We are going to go out to eat and then let the kids play together. They only see each other once or twice a year so they should have fun.

Well, I am already exhausted just thinking about everything we have to do but it should be fun.

A new beginning

So, I am going to try this again. It has been, oh, 7 months since I last posted and I tthink it is time that I turn over a new leaf. If I can spend time reading other blogs and facebooking, then surely I can spend 5 minutes typing an update. I am going to be brief today so as not to overwhelm myself. I will say that I am almost 6.5 months pregnant with a little girl due Nov. 3rd, Bella is 18 months old and Max will be 3 at the end of Sept. My goal is to post every other day. Do you think I can do it?

Brrrrr!!!

I am just really, really, cold! I wish my kids would cuddle because I just want to crawl into bed under my down comforter and lay there. And it is so dry. Everything I touch seems to shock me and I even see the sparks every so often. I wonder if it would be completely out of line to wear gloves in the house.

2009

I cannot believe that it is 2009 already. With the new year comes a lot of "goings-on" in the Doucette household. We began with our 3 year anniversary on the 7th. We enjoyed a relaxing evening out (thanks to my parents) without the kids. On the 22nd, Isabella will turn 1, which baffles me and in Feb. I will turn the dreaded 27. Up until now I have not given too much thought to my age, but for some reason 27 is bothering me, and it is still over a month away. I remember when some of my cousins reached this age and I thought they were so old and here I am. And it doesn't help that Matt just turned 25. It is so cliche to say, but time really does fly.

My "resolution" for this year is to finally get completely moved in to our house. We have lived here for well over 2 years but a year ago this month we moved temporarily due to the storm we had which blew a rather large tree down into our kitchen. We were relocated for almost 6 months while the repairs were being made and so we had to move here all over again. Isabella was only a week old when this all happened and so we hadn't really lived here with 2 children yet, so things are still a little out of place. In the next couple of weeks we want to get Bella out of our room and into Max's room. This sounds like an easy task but it requires moving a lot of furniture and well, I just haven't felt like doing it. Maybe tomorrow...
